AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
Welcome to Coastal Fusion Dance Company! We are looking for passionate and dedicated dancers to join our pre-professional company. If you are ready to take your dance skills to the next level, we invite you to audition for our upcoming season. This is a great opportunity for you to showcase your talent and be a part of our dynamic dance family

To be eligible to audition, dancers must meet the following criteria:
Full program (ages 15-18) Requirements
AGE: Must be 15-18 years old at the time of the audition.
EXPERIENCE: Must have a background of at least 3 years of competitive dance and a minimum of five years dance experience.
TRAINING: Must be currently dancing on their local competitive team with a minimum of 5 classes (Two of them being tech classes including either: Ballet, PBT, Jazz, and tech).

However, if the dancer has specific circumstances including financial need, medical concerns, or any other serious issues we will still welcome them to audition without being part of a local team, as long as they are still in a minimum or 3 tech classes as stated before. HipHop Program Requirements
AGE: 12-18 years old at the time of the audition.
EXPERIENCE: Must have a background in hiphop/street styles and preferably has competitive experience.
TRAINING: Since the hiphop program is separate you do not need to be part of your local competitive team to audition.
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND. Depending on how many dancers and how the audition goes, the judge and Director may decide to combine the age groups to make just one full program team. This will mean that the younger dancers will be a part of the older team. However, these dancers may have restrictions on what genres/dances they may be part of for example: a Younger dancer, may be an all the genres, excluding lyrical, or vice versa...
AUDITION INFORMATION
Audition Date: June 2nd, 2026.
Time: 3:45 PM - 7:45PM (Both ages groups)
Arrival Time: Please arrive 10 minutes early to sign in.
What to Expect:

Hiphop Combo and lyrical combo:
This combo will be taught via video prior to the audition. Make sure to learn it ahead of time and come prepared!

Contemporary, and Technique:
These styles will be taught in person during the audition. This allows us to see how well you pick up choreography on the spot.

Improv Section:
The improve section will take place midway through the audition and will be to our choice of genres and music.

Hip-Hop Only Auditions:
If you are only auditioning for the hip-hop portion, you may leave once that section of the audition is completed.
Important Notes:

Punctuality is key – late arrivals may not be allowed to audition.

Be ready to showcase your versatility, personality, and ability to pick up choreo quickly.

Wear appropriate attire for all styles and bring any dance shoes you may need. (Dance wear rules can be found on our rules and regulations page.

Audition Tips:
When preparing for an audition, remember that your performance begins the moment you walk into the room. Focus on arriving early to warm up, dressing professionally, and staying engaged while the choreography is being taught. We look for dancers who not only have strong technique and attention to detail but also show a positive attitude and the ability to take corrections quickly. Most importantly, dance with confidence, we want to see your unique personality and your passion for the art.
*RESULT NOTIFICATION*

All dancers will be personally emailed within the week following the audition to let them know whether or not they’ve been accepted.

If you are accepted, please reply as soon as possible to confirm your spot. When confirming please send in a headshot or dance picture (if you don't have either, no rush take your time).

If you are not selected this year, don’t be discouraged — there is always next year, and we encourage you to keep dancing and growing no matter what.
