Company Rules

​

Welcome to our Pre-Professional Dance Program. Our goal is to create a supportive, disciplined, and professional environment that prepares dancers for advanced training and career opportunities in the performing arts. By joining this program, students agree to adhere to the following rules and expectations.

 

1. Attendance & Punctuality

  • Mandatory Attendance: All scheduled classes, rehearsals, and program events are mandatory. Consistent attendance is crucial for progression and group consistency.

  • Excused Absences: Illness (with a doctor's note), family emergencies, cancelled ferries, and academic commitments (with prior notice) may be excused.

  • Unexcused Absences: Missing class without communication or valid reason is not acceptable and may lead to disciplinary action.

  • Tardiness: Students must arrive at least 10 minutes prior to class start time. 

 

2. Dress Code 

Proper dance attire must be worn for each class, as specified per discipline:

Tech:

  • Half-soles (lyrical shoes)

  • body suit and tights

  •   Sports bra and shorts/leggings

  • Tank top and shorts/leggings

​

Lyrical:

  • Half-soles (lyrical shoes)

  • body suit and tights

  • Sports bra and shorts/leggings

  • Tank top and shorts/leggings

​

Contemporary: 

  • Bare feet or half-soles

  • body suit and tights

  • Sports bra and shorts/leggings

  •  Tank top and shorts/leggings

​

Musical theatre:

  • Shoes will depend on the dance routine

  • body suit and tights

  • Sports bra and shorts/leggings

  • Tank top and shorts/leggings

​

Hiphop: 

  • Runners

  • baggy tees, hoodies, sweatpants

  •  body suit and tights

  • Sports bra and shorts/leggings

  • Tank top and shorts/leggings

​

~For the girls hair must be neatly secured away from the face in a slicked back bun at all times. 

~No jewelry(that will get in the way), gum, or distractions are permitted in class.

 

3. Classroom Etiquette

  • Dancers are expected to arrive prepared, respectful, and ready to work.

  • Phones must be silenced and stored during all classes.

  • Talking, disruptive behavior, or negative attitudes will not be tolerated.

  • Constructive correction is part of growth—students should accept feedback with maturity.

 

4. Rehearsals & Performances

  • Rehearsals are treated as professional commitments. Absences may result in role reassignment.

  • Performance participation is contingent on consistent attendance, effort, and adherence to all program policies.

 

5. Respect & Conduct

  • Students must demonstrate respect toward instructors, peers, staff, and the studio space at all times.

  • Bullying, gossip, or toxic behavior will not be tolerated and may lead to removal from the program.

  • Dancers represent the studio both inside and outside of class—conduct yourself professionally.

 

6. Parent & Family Involvement

  • Parents should support dancers by encouraging punctuality, preparation, and positive attitudes.

  • Observations are allowed only on performances and/or competitions. 

 

7. Communication

  • All absences, concerns, or conflicts should be communicated promptly to program staff via email or official communication channels.

  • Emergency contact information must be up to date.

 

By enrolling in this program, dancers and parents acknowledge they have read, understand, and agree to abide by these rules and regulations.
